Software is where the diagnostic capability actually lives — the adapter is just plumbing. This hub maps every OEM package and multi-brand platform we sell, what each one can and cannot do, and what it really costs per year including renewals.
OEM software by brand
Dealer software gives you the deepest access: ECM programming, calibration files, injector trim, and factory service information. One hub per brand with coverage tables, license tiers and install guides:
| Brand | Software | License tiers | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cummins | INSITE | Lite / Pro | $1,295/yr |
| Detroit Diesel | DiagnosticLink 8 | Standard / Professional | $1,150/yr |
| PACCAR | DAVIE4 | Per-engine & full | $1,450/yr |
| Volvo / Mack | Premium Tech Tool | Per-operation & full | $1,695/yr |
| International | NavKal / NEDS / DLB | Per-platform | $995/yr |
| CAT | Cat ET | Per-serial licensing | $1,250/yr |
| Allison | Allison DOC | Fleet / Premium | $695/yr |
| Eaton | ServiceRanger | Standard / Pro | $595/yr |
| Hino / Isuzu | DX3 / IDSS | Annual | $895/yr |
Multi-brand platforms
One license, every make. Multi-brand platforms cover 90–95% of functions on most trucks and are the backbone of independent shops. Read the four-way platform comparison before choosing — the differences are in guided diagnostics, wiring data and renewal cost, not the marketing pages.
| Platform | Strength | Weakness | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jaltest CV | Guided diagnostics, wiring diagrams, OHW/ag/marine modules | 3-seat licensing costs extra | $3,995 kit |
| JPRO Professional | US-market depth, next-gen fault guidance, fleet reporting | No OHW module; weaker on European trucks | $2,995 kit |
| TEXA Truck | Deepest European + ADAS coverage, premium hardware | Highest entry price | $6,450 kit |
| Autel MS909CV | Tablet convenience, TPMS, price | Less depth than Jaltest/TEXA on programming | $2,795 |
Renewals: the cost nobody warns you about
Every OEM package expires after 12 months. Lapse and you lose new-engine coverage, then activation, then (on some platforms) the ability to open the software at all. Budget the renewal into year-one pricing — our five-year TCO comparison shows the real total per platform. We handle renewals in-house with reminder calls 30 days out.
Avoid gray-market licenses
Cracked INSITE and PTT copies on auction sites fail at the worst moment — mid-programming, on a customer's truck, with a bricked ECM as the possible outcome. The full risk breakdown is in truck diagnostic software licenses explained. Every license we sell is genuine and registered to you.

Can I install truck diagnostic software on any laptop?
Technically yes, but OEM packages have strict requirements: Windows 10/11 Pro (not Home), specific .NET versions, no aggressive antivirus, and adequate RAM. INSITE and PTT are the pickiest. Our pre-configured kits exist precisely because DIY installs so often fail.
What happens if I let my software license expire?
Coverage for new engine releases stops immediately, and most OEM platforms eventually refuse to activate or connect. Jaltest and TEXA keep working on the last version you paid for. Renewals are always cheaper than a lapsed-and-restored license.
Is multi-brand software as good as OEM dealer software?
For read/clear, regens, bi-directionals and parameters: yes, often faster to use. For ECM programming, calibration files and brand-new model years: no — OEM wins. Most professional shops run one multi-brand platform plus OEM licenses for their core brands. See OEM vs aftermarket.
