Engine diagnostics get the attention, but a huge share of drivability complaints live in the transmission. Allison DOC (Diagnostic Optimized Connection) is the factory platform for every electronic Allison, and it is cheap enough that no shop doing transmission work should be without it.
Allison coverage: engines, models and systems
Our Allison diagnostic coverage spans every current platform and the legacy fleets still on the road. The table below maps the engines and vehicle families you can scan, code and program with a dealer-level setup. If your truck is missing, run it through the compatibility checker or ask us on WhatsApp — coverage updates land monthly.

OEM software vs multi-brand: which Allison setup fits your shop
Allison DOC comes in Fleet ($495/yr) and Premium ($695/yr) tiers. Fleet handles read/clear, data, and clutch-wear prognostics; Premium adds calibrations, TCM programming and the prognostics customization fleets use to stretch transmission life. Both run through any RP1210C adapter on the same laptop as your engine software.
Shops that only touch Allison iron get the most depth per dollar from the OEM package. Mixed fleets usually pair one OEM license with a multi-brand platform — see the OEM vs aftermarket capability breakdown before you spend.
What it costs — real numbers, not “call for price”
Budget $495–$695/yr for the license — the cheapest OEM platform we sell — plus an adapter you likely already own if you run Cummins or Detroit software. We bundle Allison DOC into multi-brand Toughbook kits for $395 when added to any other OEM license.

Can a multi-brand scanner replace Allison DOC?
For read/clear and basic data: yes, Jaltest and JPRO cover Allison well. For TCM programming, calibration updates and prognostics customization: no — you need DOC. Transmission shops should own the real thing.
Does Allison DOC work on the same adapter as Cummins INSITE?
Yes — any RP1210C-compliant adapter (INLINE 8, USB-Link 3, DPA 5) works with both. One laptop and one adapter can run INSITE, DiagnosticLink, DAVIE4 and Allison DOC side by side.
How do I read Allison codes without software?
Pushbutton shifters display two-digit codes on the gear display (hold both arrows). Our transmission fault-code page decodes all of them.
